Advantages of the Condo Lifestyle
63As you begin your search for a new place to hang your hat, consider a condominium home as an option. The advantages of living in a well-maintained, established condominium association neighborhood are numerous and can make your life much easier in the long run.
If you have a job which takes you away from home during the week that leaves you exhausted in the evenings, and takes all your spare time on the weekends just to recover from the stress and pressure, buying a condo could give you the recovery time you need to relax and prepare for your next work week. Depending on the location, most condominium neighborhoods contract out for lawn care, shrub trimming, mulching, and other outdoor landscape maintenance chores. Some communities have public swimming pools and clubhouses nearby that offer services much like private clubs. Most neighborhood clubhouses are maintained by the local community association and require little if any effort on the part of the residents to keep them maintained. Many condominium communities have small parks, walking trails, bike paths, lakes, golf courses, and even tennis courts; a perfect setting for a laid-back weekend.
Maintaining a house, keeping up on repairs, making sure the roof, driveways and the back patio are protected from the weather and in good shape, takes a lot of sweat equity. Condo owners pay a small fee each month to ensure these maintenance issues are dealt with by someone else and problems are solved by subcontractors and vendors who are hired by the property manager and the condo association board. Residents do not have to worry about paying for shingling a new roof or replacing a cracked driveway. Maintenance of common areas is taken care of by professionals who have been hired to keep everything in good repair. If something goes wrong or you want something fixed on the outside of your home, all you have to do is contact the property manager, and the work will be hired out.
Last, but certainly just as important, is the safe and secure atmosphere of most condominium neighborhoods. Many communities are gated, some are secluded and set back from the main road, and the adjacent streets are usually curved enough to keep drivers from being able to go much over 25 miles per hour. Homes are close together which encourages a close, friendly, family oriented atmosphere, so rare in today's fast-paced world.
Consider the condo lifestyle as you search for the perfect home to call your own. You won't regret your decision.
